Jeannette started at Ute Mountain Pottery in 1994. When she first joined us, she was a janitor and only painted at home. She slowly worked way up to a greenware cleaner, then to the molding department and later became a fill in painter. As a member of the Dine` Tribe, she is now a regular painter and also creates art in other mediums.
Darlene now has 4 years in at Mesa Verde Pottery. Before that, she worked for 16 years at Ute Mountain Ute Pottery. She is from Farmington, NM and is part of the Dine` Tribe.
Virginia is originally from Sweetwater, AZ, but now resides in Cortez, CO. She painted for Mesa Verde Pottery for 31 years and then started with Ute Mountain Indian Trading in May. She is also part of the Dine` Tribe. When she’s not at the store, her hobbies include weaving Navajo rugs & baskets and doing silversmith work.
Ramona is the daughter of our painter Virginia Silas. She has been painting since age 12 on and off and now enjoys painting full time. She is a part of the Dine` Tribe and in her free time, she like to exercise, travel, and cook.
Verna has been painting since she was 14 years old, which makes a total of 40 years of painting. She used to work for Mesa Verde Pottery on and off for 7 years. Her mom also worked at Mesa Verde Pottery. Her artistic talents extend to other arts & crafts, including sewing, beadwork, and yarn. She is part of the Dine’ Tribe and when she isn’t painting, she likes to cook and bake.
Clarabelle has been a painter for 30 years. She worked for 7 years under Mesa verde Pottery and 15 years under Ute Mountain Pottery. Before that, she completed other paint work in 1980s. She is originally from Towaoc, CO and is a Ute Mountain Ute Tribal member. Clarabelle likes to read and enjoy her days off with her grandchildren.
